Microsoft Says "We Absolutely Will End Up On IOS"

Between the lengthy and very public lawsuit withFortnite developer Epic Games and the rejection of streaming apps such every bit Microsoft's xCloud and Google Stadia, information technology'due south safety to say that Apple isn't making any gaming fans as of late. Despite Apple tree's resistance, Microsoft'due south executive vice-president of gaming Phil Spencer told his visitor "we absolutely will end up on IOS."

First reported by Business Insider, Spencer held a visitor-broad meeting where he discussed bringing Xbox Game Laissez passer to IOS in 2022 by using a "straight browser-based solution" to navigate around Apple tree'southward reluctance to let game streaming apps on their platform.

This dedication from Spencer and the team at Microsoft to bring their games to IOS is nothing new. Last month in an interview with Bloomberg, Spencer said, "We're committed to bringing xCloud to all mobile endpoints, including Apple'due south big ecosystem. For customers out there — and I see it on Twitter all the time, people asking — they can just know we will get there. We remain committed."

It's currently unclear what the futurity of cloud gaming services volition await similar for Apple. They accept remained solid on their stances and that doesn't seem like it's going to alter anytime soon. They also haven't responded well to companies trying to go around their app restrictions so their response to this might be less than ideal.
